ADHD Summer Skills Group for Young Adults

What is ADHD?

ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It's a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults and is characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, impulsivity, and/or hyperactivity that interfere with daily functioning and development.

How does ADHD show up?

ADHD symptoms often begin in childhood and can persist into adolescence and adulthood. A combination of genetic, environmental, and neurobiological factors impact ADHD.

ADHD may present itself in 3 different subtypes: inattentive presentation, hyperactive impulsive presentation,  and combined (both inattentive and hyperactive) presentation.

Young adults who have ADHD may struggle with time management, time blindness (difficulty perceiving or keeping track of time), difficulty focusing or sustaining attention, forgetfulness, distraction, losing things, impulsivity, difficulty staying present, among other symptoms.

How can the ADHD Summer Skills Group help?

The ADHD Summer Skills Group is a 5-week psychoeducational coaching group series offered by Child Haven Counseling (CHC), a counseling and coaching practice that serves children, teens and young adults. In this group, the therapist facilitator will teach skills on how to cope with symptoms of ADHD.

This summer you will have the space & support in the group to learn the following coping skills:
